The USA/Texas Lineman Challenge was created
to provide competition to offensive and defensive linemen
during the summer months. As any football coach knows, football
players greatly increase their chances of success during the
season by staying active during the summer. |
The USA/Texas Lineman Challenge competitions
give athletes a way to develop speed, strength and endurance
during their time away from school, not to mention the team
aspect of the events helps to develop unity among teammates.
While there are other competitions of this sort in Texas and
in other states, a handful of factors make USA/Texas Lineman
Challenge stand out from the rest.

1. Opportunity
for advancement to the State Competition in July.
Teams who qualify at one of our State Qualifying
Competitions will have the opportunity to compete at the
state level. The state competition will be separated into
5 different divisions based on each school’s classification.

2. Uniformity
of events.
All Texas Lineman Challenge Competitions will have
the same 8 events performed the same way. This uniformity
allows teams to practice their events and prepare as a group
for competition.

3. Competition
for all levels of high-school athletes.
Texas Lineman Challenge Competitions will have
divisions for Varsity, JV and incoming freshman athletes.
Different levels will have different guidelines for competition
to help these athletes be successful.

4. Individual
Competitions.
Within the team competition, individuals will also
be able to compete for medals and the chance to advance
to the state level. All athletes will have the opportunity
to advance to state even if their team doesn’t qualify.

5. Online
information source for coaches.
Our web page will provide coaches, athletes and
parents with competition information, results, rules, photos
and videos related to Texas Lineman Challenge.

6. An effective way to earn
money for your school program.
The competition provides an opportunity to earn
money for your school program with just one days work. Teams
pay an entry fee and a minimum of 8 teams could net your
program $500 for the day.
